At Faceted Fox Crafts, we believe that the artwork you bring to life deserves just as much care and consideration as the sparkling diamonds you place upon it.
We’re an artist-owned business, and our collection reflects a love of creativity in all its forms. Some designs begin as original illustrations in my studio. Others come from talented artists whose work we’re honored to feature, beautifully restored historical artwork, or imaginative creations developed with the help of modern digital tools, including generative AI.
Our creative process isn’t limited to a single medium or method. From drawing and painting in Procreate to exploring new artistic possibilities through technology, every approach offers a different way to tell a story.
And while the methods may vary, our philosophy remains the same:

Sometimes inspiration takes a more modern path! We use generative AI as one of our creative tools to explore ideas, develop imagery, and bring imaginative concepts to life. Many of these designs receive additional hands-on refinement in Procreate, where Eva adjusts details, colors, and compositions to create artwork ready for its sparkling transformation.
Every artwork has its own creative journey, and sometimes those journeys overlap! A design may combine original illustration, licensed elements, digital editing, and AI-assisted techniques. Our goal is to be transparent about those creative choices while respecting the artists and intellectual property behind the work.

... a Peek Inside the Creative Process
Every design begins somewhere.
Sometimes it’s a character I’ve been imagining for weeks.
Sometimes it’s a beautiful piece of historical artwork waiting to be rediscovered. And sometimes it’s a wonderfully ridiculous idea that pops into my head at two in the morning and absolutely refuses to leave.
However inspiration strikes, bringing that idea to life is where the real fun begins!
A Little Sketching, a Little Digital Magic…
As an artist, I love having different creative tools at my fingertips. Some pieces begin with sketches and digital painting in Procreate on my iPad. Others start with AI-generated imagery that helps me explore a particular concept, composition, or artistic direction. And sometimes? It’s a combination of everything!
Depending on the design, I may spend time adjusting facial features, correcting anatomy, refining details, changing colors, rebuilding portions of an image, or adding entirely new elements. No two designs follow exactly the same creative journey, and that’s part of what makes the process so interesting.
But Beautiful Artwork Is Only Half the Adventure!
Creating a gorgeous image is one thing. Turning it into a diamond painting that people will actually enjoy working on is another.
Diamond painting has its own unique considerations. Tiny details can disappear when translated into drills. Colors may need adjusting, and the size of the canvas can dramatically affect how the finished image looks. That’s why I consider composition, color, contrast, and overall detail when selecting and preparing artwork for our kits. The goal isn’t simply to create something beautiful on a screen.
It’s to create something that becomes beautiful, one tiny diamond at a time.
From Digital Art to Diamond Art...
...Not Every Image Makes a Good Diamond Painting!
One of the most important parts of our creative process happens after the artwork itself is finished.
Before a design becomes a diamond painting, we use specialized software to preview how it may translate into thousands of individual drills. This allows us to experiment with different canvas sizes, color palettes, and levels of detail to see how the finished painting might look. And sometimes, the results are surprising!
Fine details that look gorgeous on a screen may disappear at smaller sizes. Smooth gradients become individual colors, intricate patterns can lose definition, and certain shades may look completely different when placed beside one another. By previewing these changes, we can make more informed decisions about which designs work best, what canvas sizes to offer, and whether additional adjustments might improve the finished result

... a Little Behind-the-Scenes Magic!
Ever wondered what happens after we finish preparing your artwork and send it off to become a diamond painting?
Well, this is where the magic gets a little more mechanical!
Faceted Fox Crafts is a small, artist-owned business, but bringing our designs to life requires specialized equipment, thousands of colorful diamonds, and some very talented people behind the scenes.
That’s why we work with trusted production partners in China, a major hub for diamond painting manufacturing. These facilities specialize in transforming digital artwork into physical diamond painting kits, using equipment and processes specifically designed for the craft.
We handle the creative vision. Our production partners help us bring that vision to your crafting table.
Printing the Canvas
Where the Artwork Takes Shape
Once a design is prepared for production, specialized printing equipment transfers the artwork and its corresponding symbol chart onto the canvas. Each symbol represents a particular drill color, creating the roadmap you’ll follow as you bring your painting to life. Depending on the kit, the canvas is prepared with either a double-sided adhesive or poured-glue surface to hold those thousands of tiny diamonds in place.

Diamond painting requires an impressive assortment of colors, and our production partners maintain extensive inventories of drills organized by their corresponding color codes. From delicate skin tones and subtle shadows to brilliant jewel tones and vibrant fantasy landscapes, these carefully selected colors work together to recreate the original artwork. And yes, sometimes that means a little green or red ends up somewhere you wouldn’t expect. Trust the process!
Matching Every Color
Getting the Details Just Right
Once the canvas has been prepared, the corresponding drill colors are selected and packaged for the design. Each color is identified by a code that matches the canvas legend, making it easy to find the right diamonds as you work. The result is a collection of tiny, colorful pieces just waiting to become something beautiful.

Finally, the printed canvas, corresponding drills, and basic diamond painting tools are brought together into a complete kit.
Many of our designs are produced specifically for each customer rather than pulled from a warehouse shelf, which is why our processing times include a production period before shipping begins. Once everything is prepared and packaged, your kit begins its journey from our production partner to your doorstep.
A Note About Our Production Partners
We believe being a small business means being transparent about how our products are made.
While the artwork, creative direction, and day-to-day operation of Faceted Fox Crafts are handled here in the United States, our diamond painting kits are manufactured by specialized production partners in China.
Working with established manufacturers allows us to offer a broad range of designs, multiple canvas sizes, different drill options, and custom paintings without requiring customers to pay the significantly higher costs associated with producing every component in our own studio. It also allows us to focus on what we do best: creating and curating artwork, helping customers find designs they love, and providing personal support throughout their diamond painting experience.
We’re proud to be an artist-owned small business, and we believe there’s value in being open about the talented people and specialized facilities that help bring our products to life.

Licensed Art & Bookish Inspirations
If you’ve spent any time exploring our shop, you’ve probably noticed that we’re rather fond of books, fantasy worlds, and fictional characters.
What can we say? We’re book lovers!
Some of our bookish collections feature artwork created under licensing or permission arrangements with the appropriate rights holders. Other designs draw inspiration from broader literary themes, folklore, mythology, or characters and stories that are in the public domain. We recognize that these are important distinctions. A design inspired by a particular genre or aesthetic is not necessarily an officially licensed product, and we don’t believe those terms should be used interchangeably. Where a product is officially licensed, we aim to identify that relationship accurately and in accordance with the applicable agreement. Our goal is to celebrate the stories and imaginative worlds we love while respecting the creative rights associated with them.
Historical Artwork & Public Domain
Some of the most beautiful works of art were created long before diamond painting existed. We love the opportunity to introduce historical artwork to a new generation of crafters by transforming eligible public-domain works into sparkling masterpieces.
When selecting historical pieces, we consider their copyright status and whether they are appropriate for reproduction. We may also make adjustments to color, contrast, composition, or detail to help the artwork translate successfully into diamond painting.
It’s a wonderful way to celebrate artistic history while giving beloved works a new creative life.
AI Assisted Artwork
We believe creativity can take many forms, and that includes exploring the possibilities offered by modern technology. Generative AI is one of several tools we use to develop imaginative artwork, explore creative concepts, and experiment with visual ideas. Depending on the design, I may also spend time refining the resulting image in Procreate, adjusting colors, correcting details, modifying compositions, or adding artistic elements.
We don’t believe every design needs to be created using the same process to be worth enjoying. What matters to us is being open about the tools involved, making thoughtful creative decisions, and respecting the rights of other creators.

We’re a small, artist-owned business, and we take our responsibilities as both creators and retailers seriously. We strive to make thoughtful decisions about the artwork we create, license, source, and share. That includes respecting the rights of independent artists, honoring the terms of our licensing arrangements, distinguishing public-domain material from protected works, and being transparent about the use of AI-assisted creative techniques.
